Elements of Competency Performance Criteria              
Element: Engage in clinical supervision arrangements.
  • Identify own clinical supervision needs through a process of reflection and peer collaboration.
  • Identify and articulate own supervision goals and expectations under the guidance of a clinical supervisor.
  • Confirm and complete supervision agreement including goal setting and timeframes for supervision with the delegated Allied Health Professional.
  • Develop, document and use evidence of personal growth and professional learning in preparation for supervision.

  • Discuss challenging areas of practice using existing programs.
  • Participate in self-reflection and evaluate own response to persons.
  • Seek, accept and respond to positive and negative feedback.
  • Identify and discuss current learning needs and seek learning opportunities as part of supervision.

  • Identify limitations of own scope of practice as an allied health assistant.
  • Incorporate theoretical concepts of delegation practice to prescribe suitable delegation in allied health teams.
  • Identify limits of scope of practice for an Allied Health Assistant and the impact on delegation.
  • Identify risks in delegation received and respond in accordance with work health and safety (WHS) requirements and organisational policy and procedures.
  • Use effective communication in delegation practice.
  • Document delegated tasks in accordance with organisational policy and procedure.

Assessment Tasks

Copy and paste from the following data to produce each assessment task. Write these in plain English and spell out how, when and where the task is to be carried out, under what conditions, and what resources are needed. Include guidelines about how well the candidate has to perform a task for it to be judged satisfactory.
